All system emails fail to send, but test email works

We are using Mailgun SMTP for sending emails from FusionAuth. This has worked fine up until a week ago or so when we learned that none of the system emails were being sent (Setup Password, Password Reset, etc)
Naturally, we immediately tested SMTP settings and the test email sends fine, so it's not the SMTP credentials. Mailgun logs show the test message, but nothing else coming from FA despite many attempts to trigger emails (password resets, etc).
Followed all of the steps here as well.
To make matters worse, even with FA debug logging enabled (
mail.debug=true), there are NO logs to be found at all! Not one. Makes it a little challenging to troubleshoot.Everything worked fine a week ago. Nothing changed. Now it's broke. Thoughts?

Note for future folks, restarting the server seemed to alleviate the issue. Please follow the github issue for details about a more permanent resolution.
