I only want starter for dev instances but essentials for my prod instances. I don't see a way to do that with licenses. Do I need to have a separate account on account.fusionauth.io for that?

You only need one plan. For example, if you have Enterprise for production, you can have a separate instance running for development using the 'non-production' license id. You would get Enterprise features and support for both prod and dev.

No need to buy multiple licenses for different environments.

Here's a bit more about licensing, which shows the production and non-production ids.

@dan Do you have any plans to give preference in community support for starter plan users?

Some kind of badge to prioritise responding to starter plan users?

            Hiya @harish_reddy ,

That's a cool idea. We don't have any plans to do so right now.
